Chipewyan Prairie Dene First Nation Cumulative Effects Study

The study presents information on the effects of management strategies (e.g., access restrictions, specific industry best‐management practices, and expanded protected areas) that could be implemented to meet community objectives for maintaining ecological integrity and traditional land‐use opportunities within CPDFN traditional lands. The study applies the ALCES Online simulation model to evaluate the performance of selected ecological, economic and cultural indicators on the current and projected future landscape. Additionally, the research included a community-engagement component to ensure that the ecological indicators and mitigation strategies established in the modelling are culturally meaningful and reflect CPDFN interests.
